Peptide calculator

Enter the amount in the vial and how much bacteriostatic water you are adding. The calculator works out the concentration, the sample volume and how many units that is on the selected syringe.

Which syringe are you using?

How much material is in the vial?

How much bacteriostatic water are you adding?

How much material should one research sample contain?

For a research sample of 500 mcg (0.5 mg) the matching volume is 0.1 ml, which is 10 units on the selected scale.

How the peptide calculator works

The calculator does three basic conversions. First it finds the concentration from the amount in the vial and the volume of solvent. Then it works out the volume of the chosen research sample and converts it to the selected scale.

  1. 01

    Concentration

The amount of material divided by the volume of solvent.

    mg ÷ ml = mg/ml
  2. 02

    Volume

The amount of material in the sample divided by the concentration.

    mg ÷ mg/ml = ml
  3. 03

    Graduation

The volume is converted to the selected laboratory scale.

    ml × units/ml

How is a U100 scale different from U40?

U100 and U40 scales have a different number of units per 1 ml. The calculator accounts for this automatically once you pick the right option.

  • U100: 100 units per 1 ml.
  • U40: 40 units per 1 ml.
  • 0,5 ml U100: 50 units across the full 0.5 ml scale.

Frequently asked questions

How much bacteriostatic water should I add to the vial?
There is no single right figure — it is about how easy the sample is to measure. The rule is simple: the more water, the larger the volume of one sample and the easier it is to hit the mark. If the calculator shows fewer than two units, add more water.
What if the sample does not fit in the syringe?
The calculator warns you when the volume needed exceeds the capacity of the selected syringe. You then have two options: dissolve the material in less water, or split the sample into two draws.
Does the calculator work with U-40 syringes?
Yes. Pick the 1 ml U40 option and the conversion accounts for the different unit value.
